Prayer For Righteousness In My Life | With Bible Verses

Dear Heavenly Father,


I come before You humbly, recognizing that my life is in need of greater righteousness. Your Word teaches us in Isaiah 64:6 that all our righteous acts are like filthy rags before You. It is only through Your mercy and power that true righteousness can be achieved. I seek Your guidance and strength in pursuing a life that reflects Your righteousness.


In Proverbs 21:21, it says, “Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity, and honor.” Lord, I desire to be someone who earnestly pursues righteousness and lives a life that is pleasing in Your sight. Help me to understand Your commandments and to align my actions with Your will.

Father, I am aware of my weaknesses and the temptations that surround me. Your Word reminds me in Psalm 119:11, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Lord, grant me the discipline and desire to immerse myself in Your Word, so that I may be equipped to resist the temptations of this world. May Your Word be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, guiding me in every decision and action I take.

I pray for a heart that fears You and seeks to do what is right. Proverbs 3:7-8 reminds me, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” Lord, help me to recognize my own limitations and surrender my understanding to Your wisdom. Give me the discernment and courage to shun evil and walk in righteousness, trusting that it will bring blessings not only to my spirit but also to my physical well-being.

Lord, I ask for the transformation of my thoughts and desires, as stated in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Cleanse my heart from any impure thoughts, desires, or motives. Renew within me a steadfast spirit that remains anchored in Your righteousness, even when faced with challenges or temptations.

Finally, Father, I pray for Your Spirit to guide me daily in living a righteous life. Zechariah 4:6 reminds me that “it is not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.” I rely on Your Spirit to empower and transform me, enabling me to walk in obedience and righteousness.

In faith, I believe that You will guide me towards a life of righteousness, for You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in me. I surrender my life to Your will and trust in Your loving-kindness and mercy.
