Prayer Before Surgery With Bible Verses Requesting God's Protection And Strength
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You today, acknowledging Your sovereignty and power. As I prepare for surgery, I am reminded of Your Word in Psalm 121:2 that says, "My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." I rely on You, Lord, as the ultimate source of strength, guidance, and healing.
In this moment of uncertainty, I find comfort in Your promise from Isaiah 40:31 that says, "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." I place my hope and trust in You, knowing that You will sustain me and give me the strength I need.
Lord, I acknowledge that You are the Great Physician, as stated in Jeremiah 30:17: "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD." I pray for Your healing touch upon my body, mind, and spirit. Guide the hands of the surgeons, nurses, and medical staff involved in my surgery, and grant them wisdom and skill as they carry out their duties.
In this time of fear and anxiety, I find solace in Your promise from Psalm 34:4: "I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears." I surrender my fears and worries to You, Lord, knowing that You are with me and will provide comfort and peace beyond understanding.
I ask for Your protection and guidance during the surgery, as affirmed in Psalm 32:8: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." I trust that You will lead the medical team in making the right decisions and guide them through every step of the procedure.
Lord, I pray for a successful outcome of the surgery, recognizing Your promise in Isaiah 53:5: "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed." I believe in Your healing power and ask that You bring restoration and wholeness to my body.
I also lift up my loved ones to You, Lord, as they support me during this time. Your Word in Psalm 55:22 assures me that I can cast my burdens on You, and You will sustain me. I pray for their comfort, strength, and peace, knowing that You will be their refuge and strength as well.
Finally, I commit the outcome of this surgery into Your hands, O Lord, recognizing Your sovereignty over all things. Your Word in Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds me to trust in You with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. I surrender my will to Yours, knowing that Your plans are perfect and Your love for me is unwavering.
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for hearing my prayer. I thank You for Your faithfulness and for the assurance that You are with me every step of the way. May Your presence be felt in the operating room, guiding the hands of the medical team and bringing healing and restoration. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
