Prayer For God’s Mercy | With Bible Verses

Gracious Heavenly Father,


I approach Your throne of mercy with a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving. Your Word declares in Lamentations 3:22-23, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lord, I am in awe of Your boundless mercy that endures forever.

In Psalm 103:8, it says, “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” Father, I come before You acknowledging my sins and shortcomings, but I am comforted by the truth that You are a God who is merciful, slow to anger, and overflowing with love. You extend Your mercy to those who seek Your forgiveness and turn their hearts towards You.

Lord, I confess that I have fallen short and need Your forgiveness. In Psalm 51:1-2, it is written, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.” I humbly ask for Your forgiveness, knowing that You are faithful and just to forgive and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

In Micah 7:18, it is proclaimed, “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.” I am grateful that You delight in showing mercy and long to forgive. I present myself before You, trusting in Your promise to pardon my sins and grant me a new beginning.

Lord, in Your mercy, I pray for compassion and forgiveness towards others as well. In Exodus 34:6, it is proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” Let Your heart of compassion flow through me, that I may reflect Your mercy towards those who have wronged me or hurt me. Help me to extend forgiveness and love, just as You have forgiven and loved me.

Heavenly Father, I am amazed by how Your mercy covers all aspects of my life. In Psalm 86:5, it is written, “You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.” I call upon Your name, knowing that Your mercy extends to every area of my life. Pour out Your mercy upon my relationships, my family, my work, and all the circumstances I face. May Your mercy bring healing, restoration, and reconciliation.

Thank You, Lord, for Your unfathomable mercy. May it surround me, guide me, and transform me. As I experience Your mercy each day, let it lead me to a life of gratitude and obedience. May I, in turn, extend Your mercy and love to others, being a vessel of Your grace in this world.

In the name of Jesus, whose sacrifice on the cross made Your mercy available to all, I pray.
